Star Trek Into Darkness (3D) is a science-fiction movie directed by the celebrated director JJ Abrams, starring Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Chris Pine and Damon Lindelof. The film serves as a sequel to the movie Star Trek released in 2009. The movie managed to bag various accolades at global platforms like California on Location Awards, Britannia Awards, Hollywood Film Awards and Satellite Awards with numerous nominations for several categories. It has been the highest earning movie from the Star Trek franchise, till date. The movie is set in 2259, where a USS Enterprise commanded by James T Kirk saves planet Nibiru's inhabitants from a volcanic eruption which has the capacity of destroying the whole planet itself. However in the process, Kirk happens to violate the Prime Directive, which is the guiding principle of the US Federation of planets. According to the Prime Directive, Starfleet personnel are not allowed to interfere with the internal issues of the planets. The film sees the downfall of Kirk and then how he follows his path of duty by chasing down an arch enemy Harrison to Kronos, the Klingon homeworld. He is accompanied by Spock and Uhura into various battles to end the evil named Harrison, only to find out that he was but actually a genetically engineered superhuman; name Khan, awakened by a suspended animation that was 300 year old to develop weapons for war against Klingon empire. So, is Khan an ally or an enemy and what e has in store for him? What does Marcus want when he intercepts with USS Vengeance? Does Kirk finally succeed in restoring the Enterprise or fails at it?
