Wow! I got my guy on Thursday and by Monday he began to pin and by the following Thursday I harvested him! In 1 week I watched him literally double and triple in size almost by the hour! I did notice after doing a little bit of research that by putting him near a fan and misting him a few more times a day than the kit recommended that his growth increased drastically! I live in FL so our humidity is already high, but he seemed to really love the higher the humidity got! Honestly this was the easiest way I have ever grown anything in my life! I wasn’t sure at first if I was doing it right because I didn’t see anything happening, but just give it a few days and the pins will come and then the show begins! Now as for the taste and weight- I got .981oz wet from the kit. Maybe I could have gotten more on the first fruiting, but he was starting to fall over (he cracked 2 caps) from being too top heavy and I had no choice - next round - I am laying the bag on it’s side! The taste was great! It’s woodsy and smokey! Definitely a shroom you want to sauté! The whole family got involved in this project - from misting, daily photo updates, harvesting and finally making a spore print on foil that we will frame - oh and let’s not forget the family dinner we got out of it! Will buy again and buy as gifts!

Harvested on the 11th day but could have been harvested on the 10th. Been growing mushrooms for a few months now, used different growing kits. This one was my most successful growth. I've been learning with each kit & progressing, but this kit produced a beautiful large healthy cluster of white oyster mushrooms. It took 7 days before pinning & I harvested it on the 11th day, though I could have harvested a day earlier. I was so impressed with the outcome I didn't even want to harvest it. These pictures I took on the 9th day, I meant to take pictures of what they looked like before I harvested them because these pictures don't do the final results justice. Doubled in just 2 days & the Caps slightly curling upward. I'm going to attempt another flush but even if I only get the one flush it's worth it in my opinion for the amount, size & weight. This grow kit is my favorite & I've tried many, I'll be using again. It is expensive & there are cheaper options available. But if used properly & able to get multiple full healthy flushes definitely would make the price worth it. I also grew pink oyster mushrooms with their kit. Grew much faster then the white oyster didn't take any pictures though. I was satisfied with both, however I was more impressed with the white oyster outcome.

First harvest was foolproof. Grew some really pretty mushrooms. A little disappointed My second harvest was unsuccessful. Easy to cook the mushrooms with. A fun learning experience and got some nice pictures to post to social media... but at the end of the day you are paying $25+ for a couple servings of mushrooms.

I have been fascinated by mushrooms in general since I was a teenager foraging for morel mushrooms in the woods of Iowa with my dad. I've wanted to try growing them for some time and finally ordered this kit from Forest Origins to give it a whirl. Everything about this growing kit far exceeded my expectations. Easy to follow directions for first bloom and additional growth in the tutorial offered online. Mushrooms grew as scheduled and tasted incredible even though I should have harvested twelve hours earlier than I did. I made the in a salmon recipe and the white oysters were a tasty compliment. First bloom was plenty to feed four in the recipe. This would be a fun project to do with children! Thanks Forest Origins for offering a great product at a reasonable price.

I have bought a few of these kits from this grower and I have had great success, 2 cops on average! Good introduction to mushroom growing.

Super fun and easy teen project. You could buy oyster mushrooms at the market for less probably, but you'd miss the magic and freshness of growing your own!

The mushroom spawn was incredibly easy to set up and grow. Within days i had a cluster of oysters growing. I would read up on harvesting though as i only got one cultivation from this kit because i believe i havested them improperly. I took a time lapse with my go pro to post but unfortunately during the daytime the growth was drown out by the daytime lighting because of improper settings on my part. I experienced double growth from day to day.
