Released in the year 1942, Bambi is an American animated movie directed by animation filmmaker David Hand. The plot of the movie is adapted from a popular book entitled ‘Bambi, A life in the Woods’, written by Austrian author Felix Salten. It is always a delight to go through this movie as it portrays an unusual story of a white-tailed deer in a brilliant way. Disney: Bambi was released by RKO Radio Pictures and is the fifth film in the Walt Disney Classic Animated series. The central character of this movie is Bambi which is a little white-tailed deer. His friend Thumper, his parents and most importantly his childhood friend and future mate, Faline are other notable characters in the movie. The adorable characters have been portrayed in an amazing way by the director, in a well defined plot which can be understood by the kids. Though the book portrayed Bambi as a roe deer, the director tweaked it a little bit and put him up as a white-tailed deer. Bobby Stewart, Donny Dunagan, Hardie Albright lend their voices as Bambi in his various stages of life. While Tim Davis lends his voice to the rabbit, Thumper, Ann Gillis was the sweet voice behind Faline, the doe who turns out as Bambi’s love interest. The story is about a young deer Bambi, how he grows up in the forest and struggles hard to survive, after his mother is dead by hunters. The story moves on as Bambi reaches the adult stage of his life and falls in love with his childhood mate Faline. As their courtship was interrupted by an old stag named Ronno, Bambi defeats him and wins over Faline’s heart. The movie has been hugely popular amongst kids of all ages.
