You can tell if these are working because they shouldn't ever smell. If they do smell then they aren't killing the bacteria.I've had these for less than three months, and they need washing because they stink. I've been using a "No More Chemicals" dishcloth for at least seven years, and that never smells.They're going in the drawer for use as (expensive) standard microfibre cloths.
