We purchased this safe mainly to keep expensive jewellery safe, its small but more than enough for our needs, very well made with thick gauge steel, quite heavy to lift but easy to install, i just bolted mine straight into the brick wall with the fixing bolts supplied, very sturdy strong fix with zero chance of removal, also very easy to operate, all in all a great safe from a leading company like Yale which is also certified for higher levels of insurance

In my opinion this was the best safe for its size on Amazon when i got it in 2012. It does not dissapoint. It has holes in back and bottom inside to secure it to wall or floor, but it already weighs about 30Kg, so it would take a very determined thief to take it, and a very well prepared one to break into it. It opens with a user-assigned, up to 8 number, password or a double sided override key, of which there are two to keep safe. I actually enjoy using it! And it keeps important things safe.

Excellent quality. The material thickness of the door is 5mm. I quickly mastered the programming, changing the code several times to make sure that all the buttons worked. The system has bleeps when the buttons are pressed and the instructions say that they can be switched off if you prefer but although the word Silent appears on the display, the sound is still there. No problem as the buzzes serve to confirm that you have entered a number correctly. Batteries were included. I thought that Amazon offered a choice of having it delivered in a plain box but could not find anywhere on the order form to select that option, therefore all the neighbours now know I have a safe. I now keep a small folding umbrella in it (well, it's nice to put something away for a rainy day). One point, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! I didn't and after a few weeks of using the code of my choice, discovered that entering 0000 opened the safe! It is the factory set number and needs to be deleted.

This is my second Yale safe, the first one had a fault after 7 months with the LCD display. Amazon took it back. I purchased a new one, same model. I really like some features, like the auto door lock. The inside is very good quality and a nice shelf and illuminated inside. The down side is small, but needs attention. If you buy this safe, then do not use the wall fixings that come with it. You will do more damage to your wall and will probably end up ripping them out of your wall. I attach a photo showing the silver wall fixing, and the gold colour wall fixing is a replacement that I purchased for £4 from Screw fix. Do yourself a favor and buy the wall fixings from Screwfix, and throw away the included ones. The screw fix anchors are a thicker metal, and you can really tell the difference when installing. The Screwfix anchors really grip the wall. The Yale ones sometimes grip, but will also slip if you over tighten. Screw fix part numbers, which include the 14mm Masonry drill bit: 18356 x 1 Easyfix Shield Anchor Bolt Type M8 x 75mm 5 Pack £4.89 1550V x 1 Straight Shank Masonry Drill Bit 14 x 200mm £3.09 I really do recommend this safe, but only if you buy replacement wall anchors.

This is the "Yale YSM400EG1 Home & Office Safe" which is certified and comes with an insurance rating to cover £2000 cash or £20,000 valuables (if installed and secured correctly). It features a digital keypad with a backlight display, a programmable code of up to eight digits, low battery warning, internal LED lights and a fitting kit as well as measuring 35x36x41cm (length, width, height). In terms of security it offers 22mm motorised locking bolts, a six lever double bitted manual override lock, armoured steel anti drill plates and a reinforced hinge. It comes with two secure keys and like I mentioned it also includes four 10cm fixing “bolts” to allow the safe to be secured firmly in place. The build quality is very high with its polished steel body (which is up to 5mm thick) and streamlined front control panel. It features a few small LED lights on the inside of the door hinge, which while offer some illumination - you can easily improve on by buying and fitting a cheap LED touch light. The inside is carpeted and it has a shelf which is also carpeted. There are also predrilled holes on the back and the bottom of the safe ready for you to secure. I secured it both to the wall and the floor for added security. There are a few small problems that you may wish to consider. I don't believe the shelf is removable. It appears to be fixed and I did not want to force it out in case I could not replace it. This may pose a problem if you wish to store box files or folders. The instructions are not great and could be improved on (especially the leaflet that tells you have to fit the safe and use the bolts) Be advised however that this safe comes with a "default master code" which is preset to 0000 - it advises you to change this code which you can do easily via the instructions leaflet otherwise anyone can open the safe. At the end of the day however what you have here is a solid, secure and stylish safe that looks good but more to the point will keep your goods or cash safe. You would be hard pushed to find a safe of this size and rating at a cheaper price without compromising on quality.

First impressions were that this is a well made product with a high standard of finish. The instructions are fine and its not really difficult to install however I had to make a trip to the hardware store for some longer bolts. Once securely in place the operation to open and close is very easy and the LED light that illuminates the contents is a helpful feature. Didn't go for the cheap keypad safes as there are plenty of videos on U-Tube on how to bump them open! Worth the extra investment for peace of mind.

Just what I needed; a medium sized safe (not too big, not too small) for my home that is sturdy, easy to operate and comes under a good brand (Yale). Comes complete with instructions for electronic operation, 2 master keys, bolts for fastening to the wall (or floor) and batteries. Fully lined inside with a very handy shelf too. Not sure if it is big enough for laptop, which I did not require. Highly recommended. Not cheap compared to Chinese products, but many classes above in terms of quality and finishing.

Bonjour Coffre fort conforme à la description. installation simple et facile. il y a les deux clés en cas de besoin, si problème avec l’électronique. la tablette intérieure se retire donc parfait pour moi je l'ai retiré pour avoir plus de place. La lumière intérieure fonctionne bien. Par contre bien faire attention de bien modifier le code par défaut : 0000 (c'est le code usine) c'est indiqué sur la notice mais si vous le laissez à 0000 et bien il suffit de taper 0000 pour ouvrir le coffre, même si vous avez mis votre propre code qui fonctionnera lui aussi. il faut donc modifier le code usine et mettre votre code à vous aussi le seul petit reproche c'est la livraison ou le coffre arrive avec l'emballage du coffre et pas discret du tout. c'est dommage que pour ce genre de produit pour la livraison il n'y a pas un emballage plus discret . Bin mit dem Laptoptresor super zufrieden, viel Platz, einfach in der Handhabung, würde ihn sofort wieder kaufen. Einsatzbereich ist in einem Transporter der als Zugfahrzeug für den Urlaub genutzt wird.
