Light weight but sturdy.
I bought this extension for use with my Aochuan Gimbal Smart XR. Is sturdy enough for hand held shooting and video. It is reasonably stable when extended full length and has a minimum of FLEX in the joints compared to the other extensions I have used/own. It is even respectably more rigid than a canon monopod purchased for a Canon DSLR at 4 times the price. I don't see using any extension while riding/driving a motorcycle or bicycle in any case. If I were to do that I would manufacture my own out of a single pipe and not a telescopic pole set up. The locks are stable when twisted into the lock position and are easily released to collapse back down, they can be very tight and take a bit of force to twist to unlock after being used for extended periods of time. I expect this extension to last quite a while although I do anticipate the plastic locking spacers will eventually wear down and begin to slip, but for the price I think it will last me a long time. I gave it 4 stars since it only comes in black and I would like one to match my new gimbal which is a grey color.
