I have seen some shredders where you can use a hand crank to do the job. This shredder here however is not one of those. If you're searching for non-electric, Amazon has a pretty good selection. Hope you find what you're looking for.

What is the run time on this shredder?

I haven't used this particular shredder, but my other two personal use low-end shredders will run bunches of 3-5 sheets through as fast as you can feed them for 10-12 minutes before overheating. Then they stop with the "overheat" light on, and they need to cool off for 15-20 minutes before they will restart. This doesn't seem to do any damage.

I have owned 2 of these & both continued to run after I stopped shredding. this is the only problem that I have had . Why ?

my guess is that it is a self cleaning mechanism. so there is no paper left between the cutting blades. my last shredded did that a lot.

Does the shredder have automatic overload protection which shuts the machine off if it runs too long or if paper jams?

How do you reset the automatic overload protection once the machine stops running. Even the green light does not come on. I plugged directly into socket and have emptied the container.
