Fun, Funky and Frustrating!
This is a delightful little flute and produces very nice notes- IF!!! The big IF is related to the size. Although hard tp tell from photos, the opening at the mouthpiece is barely large enough to fit a little finger into. Thus, since it is a semi rim blown, like a shakuhachi, the bevel of the mouthpiece is TINY... as are the finger holes. It takes a lot of effort and practice to manage an embouchure that is diminutive enough to match the notch. And finding the finger holes is a challenge as well, since they are also small. I am going to experiment by adding a piece of PVC to see if I can make a surrounding "shell" to make it easier to direct the airstream into the notch. But the instrument is pretty, very well made, quite sturdy and a ton of fun. Just be aware of the size limitations and the challenges to play it.

Perhaps a bit pricey, but excellent
This Danso has a low volume and relatively soft sound - great for places/housing situations where you can't get too loud. Proper embouchure and breathing technique are mandatory, else you will have a terrible time and/or make no sound at all - practice, practice, practice! If you're having difficulty, put it down for an hour, or a day - the next time you pick it up you may "magically" find it much easier to play; sometimes you just need a break. The same principles that work for the Dong Xiao apply to the Danso, so techniques and learning material online for one may be helpful for the other. The plastic is thick, and should be relatively unbreakable, but you should still protect it from direct sunlight and extreme heat. While it may seem to be limited due to it's Mixolydian scale, don't be deceived - there is tons of music you can learn to play or transcribe to the key of this instrument.
