Honestly it would be unbeatable for about 40 dollars more, even. A little shorter than other knives I've used, which takes getting used to. It's very sharp and feels exquisitely well made

Great knife at a great price! Sub-$40, japanese made steel, and sharp while holding an edge for the 2 weeks since purchase. Full tang. Handle appears to be acacia wood and has nice lacquered application/look. Has a quality feel, good weight, and the coating is still w/o blemishes or chips with semi-daily use. Only con would be the black color does leave water drop spots- but they do include a ‘wipe cloth’ for that. If you need a great go-to knife that wont break the bank- you found it!

Bought as a gift for a cook in a restaurant. They absolutely love it and use it all the time. They say the other kitchen staff uses it also. After commercial kitchen use showed me that it is still sharp enough to cut paper like butter.
