StarTech DisplayPort 1.2 to 3x HDMI MST Hub, 3x 1080p or Dual 4K 30Hz

I received this early Nov 2024 and it has been a superstar ever since. I saw a couple remarks about the unit locking up and/or overheating. Hasn't happened to me. I use mine in my work, and having 3 screens has improved my productivity. It stays on 24 hours a day 7 day a week and is in use for four of those day in 10 hour shifts. I'm very happy with it....money well spent!

This hub is legit. Works great as long as your PC supports Displayport 1.2+. Currently running 2 monitors on this little hub. My only gripes are the cost and having to turn it on after each reboot.

After trying 2 different DP to HDMI splitters/adapters I got this one and it solves all the issues I was having. I was connecting to HDMI monitors to my all-in-one desktop and I was getting constant screen blackouts. So frustrating. Could not figure it out. Even had HP tech support and they made all sorts of changes to settings and I still was getting the blackouts. Then someone suggested upgrading to StarTech product and all problems solved. Nice job. My advice, spend a little more and bypass all the headaches!

I was skeptical that this would work, but it was exactly what I needed, so I gave it a try. I crashed my system the first time I plugged it in, but after that it did allow me to connect 3 separate HD TVs to my desktop Pascal GPU's Displayport. I couldn't get the same support from my laptop, but that may have been related to the fact that Intel and NVidia share the DisplayPort via Optimus. But the device can work with the right components to connect to it.

i know alot for computers but this device just got me going crazy all i can do is mirror my monitor, i was tying to look there website how can i find my device supports dp 1.2 but i couldnt find so anyways i paid this much money which i could have just bought a box mirror for $20. it is not there fault bc the device does do what they say but they should write the box will not work without dp 1.2 and hbr 2 higher thats how they should start of the video

It has been 3 months since I purchased this product. Worked fine for 2 months and now I have to reset (unplug and re-plug) this hub. The reason being is that only 2 monitors are active when I actually have 3 monitors. Not only that, I chose my center monitor as my main monitor but for some reason, only the left is active during start (to login). This only happens during startup (I tend to shut down my PC). If I keep my PC on, everything is fine.

This is a fantastic product that runs 3 monitors off hdmi cables from the hub that is connected to the display port of the computer. I tried many other devices and none worked. Do yourself a favor and go to chatgpt 4 and enter the make and model of your computer and ask it what you need to run 3 monitors and it will tell you. I tried this after trying numerous devices for 3 days without success. THis one works if your onboard graphics card supports 3 monitors - ask chatgpt4 and save yourself a lot of trouble .

So, first of all, I am not a computer expert, but I am a computer user for +25 years. This is what I've learned, 'when it comes to computers it's all about Inputs and Outputs.' Long story short for those who are looking for a quick answer: To fix flickering or to keep your monitors from turning off randomly (as it happened to me) use the correct cable for your machine! If your machine is designed to use DP 1.2, use DP 1.2 CABLE. If your machine is designed to use DP 1.4 Cable, then use 1.4 Cables. That's it! Oh, one thing I forgot to mention, not only am I using this DP to HDMI (3) SPLITTER, I AM USING THIS IN CONJUNTION WITH ANOTHER BI-DIRECTIONAL HDMI SPLITTER (2 INPUT 1 OUTPUT) which are connected to my monitors, (TWO INPUTS, one HDMI from one computer and another INPUT from another computer and ONE OUTPUT from splitter which goes into monitor) I have two computers and sharing my three monitors and it has been working wonderfully. Super, m'a permis de configurer 3 écrans en WQHD, comme la bande passante était saturée, un petit coup de CRU pour limiter un des écrans à 35hz et le tour est joué ! Pour note j'avais également testé le DP vers 2DP qui lui ne fonctionnait pas (FW 2.1 alors que le 3x hdmi est en FW 2.3)

works but your video card likely wont support its own ports plus the two more this allows.

I use this to drive three 24" hdmi monitors from one DisplayPort v1.2. It works really well and meant I did not have to upgrade to DisplayPort monitors when I bought a new PC. It gets a little warm but I assume that's normal. It gives off a very faint mains hum kind of sound. The noice is hardly noticable but might be annoying if it was on in a bedroom at night.
